Kilian listened to customers' requests and in 2002, made a strategic
decision to begin the process of developing reliable, high quality
sources in China. Over the past 7 years, Kilian has been successful in
identifying a number of factories that have demonstrated robust quality
systems and customer service.
A team of Kilian quality, engineering, purchasing and management
personnel have made many visits to these factories and
have developed excellent relationships that are so critical to successful
partnerships.
Unlike others who might be dealing with a local importer, Kilian has a
sourcing office located in Shanghai, a very short distance from where
many of our sources are located. The Shanghai office is fully staffed
with purchasing, engineering and quality specialists that support our
business units with "on the ground", real time follow up with our
suppliers.
During the past year, with the help of our Shanghai sourcing office, Kilian
have developed two excellent sources for a wide variety of needle bearings,
drawn cups, heavy wall, thin wall, sealed, thrust roller cages with or without
races.
